Breast say goodbye!

Allo!
How goes?
What have you been up to and will your descendants ever live it down?
(I don't have descendants so LOOPHOLE!)

Right, lets get down to the meaty chunks (literally) straight away!
I fully engaged in having 1 of these last Monday and so that is why there was no weekly letter:
Basically it's having both Boobs snipped off!
Do they allow use of the word 'Boob' here?
Hope so!
side note: aren't the blurry lights from Bren's PC most beautiful?!

Anyone who's had bits of their bits snipped open/up/off will instantly recognize the ever fashionable outfits they get you to wear at surgery... I managed to put the surgical gown on the wrong way round with the opening at the front, not the back. I thought it looked dead stylish but the nurse insisted that my bum, decked out in these elasticated undies, had to poke through the back or the doctors feelings would be hurt.
Possibly it's a cultural thing...

Sadly the surgery ended in tragedy... 😭
Okay obviously not really since TADA here I am, but I was making joyfully morbid jokes just before going into theatre. They left me almost 2.5 HOURS later than scheduled so I'm sorry, you get your laughs where you can!

After the operation - home, and this is where I slept! The cushion is what I sat on, with the chikkin pillow being where my head went! Lying down was NOT an option!
Heck moving or breathing heavy was seriously frowned upon!
I once saw a YouTube video of a bunch of Tibetan Buddhist nuns who all slept sitting up in their favorite chairs, so I felt a bit of a kinship with them here!
I put everything I needed in grab-able distance - Nest complete!
(Even my work laptop because this is me and of course I am working when I should be resting...)
That Chikkin "pillow" was such the best thing ever, perfect height for a Jo head to rest on!
And look at its face, doesn't that just whisper, "Rest, all will be well" to you?💮

Update 1: About 4 days in I replaced the cushion on the floor with the purple blanket from the support mats, it was longer and softer though not that much more comfortable, your tailbone takes stress sleeping like this! Oh Buddhist nuns, I hope you have buns of steel!!

Update 2: As of last night I managed, for the first time ever, to sleep LYING DOWN!!! I'm sure my "WOOHOO!!!" was heard across the globe!
(Sorry if you were sleeping at the time...)

Shame, having donated his sleeping mat to the cause, Bren slept on the floor in the bedroom with only multi-coloured blankets to cushion him...I was torn between love and sympathy for him doing this - and envy that at least he could sleep on his back, or SIDES, I haven't even hit SIDES yet!
Dude is multi-talented...
Seriously though he has been a WAY UP AND ABOVE AVERAGE NURSE! He seems to have majored in 'Caring & Concern' in the hard knocks School of Life and graduated top of his class, his year and his generation! Aren't we glad we nabbed him?!
♥

As to the results? Let me introduce you to my bandage - my THICK,  PLASTIC-COVERED bandage that is so tough & tight that I could see this having super high defensive stats in a PC game... it looks innocent but it is not!
It is HOT! 🌞
and ITCHY!!
and... *scrambles madly for something else viciously true to complain about...* not in pretty colours like blue or green!
So if you're wondering what it looks like beneath all of this?
You and me both!
Tomorrow I go for a check up so ALL WILL BE REVEALED!!
(Cos I am taking this thing off, regardless of what Mr Doctor Professor man says!)

This, not impatience, would be the main reason I want to take the bandages off, my body is reacting badly to them and forming merry little, and not so little (this one is almost pinkie finger length) blood blisters all about the edges of the plastic. Nothing like moving and then feeling a warm liquid trickle down some or other part of you...
Yeah I see the faces you're making, I make them too!!

So now we carry on healing & dealing!
I wonder when I will be strong enough to go to work again? Or use a treadmill - ah to WALK SLOWLY on and read and Zen, I'm not totally bonkers (93% is not totally!)
Day by day we wait and see!

But let's not end on such a mysterious note!
Look! Here is a cheeky bunny I saw on my walk pre-surgery! Not scared of me at all!
(To be fair I wasn't scared of him either)
I'm hoping to see him again when next out and about!

A picture of JoBren at the shops, pre-surgery - and soon to be post-surgery as well!
Because JoBren keep on keeping on, life is far too interesting to let the bad stuff keep you down!!!

So please please please, look after yourself this week, have many tasty snacks, and yes, a bit of exercise to round it all off with cos man you never know when you are going to need weird muscles to come in to compensate for other muscle suddenly incapacitated (Watching Jo trying to get up off the floor when she can't use her arms is both entertaining and heart-wrenching...)

Love your life!
From the couple who do, DO, DO!!!!
~JoBren!
