New Year, New You Hoo!!!
Hello!
Good day!
Good year!
Tire brand!
And there is our word association game of the day!
I do hope you are weller than well and ready to take on the day with the ferocity of a cornered shrew!
Any BIG plans for the year? I always find small plans tend to be less stressful and actually stick & work out, have you noticed?
So saying I don't have any.
We had a lovely holiday, I actually thought it would be more along the lines of this:
But actually we were rather
out
&
about!
All over really!
It was great fun!
I did sneak into work from the 17th to the 20th, they still took the leave off, but I got to use the water here and have the whole place nearly to myself - it was GLORIOUS!
Mind you, guess which small, bouncy person worked on the only floor where they didn't put the lights on? I felt like I was at a casino!
Yes, fine fine, but what about the HoLIdaYs?! <--aka the important stuff!
We did a lot of walking, all about various shops, areas, parks and even including the odd hike or 2!
Walking is what JoBren do best!
(And you are VERY invited to come with us should you find yourself anywhere in our orbit at the time!)
This was basically my view of things for most of the time:
Yes I hike with shoes on, but soon my chutzpa-o-meter will be so full I will attempt 1 without!
I'll let you know the name of the clinic where I get my feet bandaged up afterwards!
I got very sunburnt!
My view:
We had a lot of rain as well, there were OODLES of POODLES about! <-- best said in a strong, Scottish accent!
I'd say this one was about oh, a foot deep...
Mud between your toes is a SENSATION!
We also visited the zoo - twice!
(p.s. isn't the word 'twice' such a fun word to say? Twice! Twice, Twice, Ta-ha-why-ssss!)
WANT!!!! ♥
DO NOT WANT! 🕱
Squirrels!! These guys were the main reason we came to the zoo! When they were in empty enclosures we tossed them some raw peanuts that we conveniently had with us! 😉
Bebe sqwiwwel!!! ♥
Some of the "squirrels" were not as we pictured them to be...oye don't peck at me nuts!
If you're cold, they're cold, don't forget to let them into your house at night!
Okay, I think this guy looks warm enough... *sweatdrop*
Let's look at the opposite side to see if we can see the grasshopper!
Speaking of hunting birds, I did get this in my mail...
I did not update my app.
I did not see my year in review.
*shivers*
Bren got to experience wild life a bit too up close & personal...
When you'd just die for a coffee...
Isn't this the cutest tomato you've ever seen?
Like a sneaky health jelly bean!
We have an infestation of crickets! Do they count as wild life? They are fond of our washing. Since they're mostly harmless, and have not run away with, or devoured, any of our knickers, we mostly sort of just sigh and (((shake))) our clothing vigorously before putting it on.
Actually the strange and weird insect life we see in our cottage is just off the charts! Entomologists - groan with envy for we will probably discover a new & funky species way way WAY before you do!
Oh and if you ever want to get into a totally different sort of wild life... I know a place!
(The shop that sells this that is, not the place you'd go to wear it, that's for you to find yourself & break your mother's heart!)
In Other News:
I spent all of New Year's Eve, and much of New Year's Day, (so many capital letters!), throwing up and feeling very hard done by due to my stomach feeling it had to add it's own explosive fireworks to the festivities! My abs hurt for 2 days afterwards but I think that's a work out I'd like to avoid going forward! ( >_<)
I up my age at the start of every year so I am unofficially 47 years old!
Isn't it a lovely number? I swoon when I see it! ♥♥♥
46 was an utterly flabby year and when 48 comes round I'll just keep it 49 for 2 years.
Weird, non-existent problems require er-okay-you-do-you solutions!
But back to 47, look at all this stuff!
Mind if you do go to Wikipedia and click on the links, good luck with understanding them! They are in English, I managed to figure that much out, but the Math-ese language is too hard for my pip brain to compute...
Bren continues to continue! HOORAY! He spent most of the holidays (When not out adventuring), playing Starfield a game that is huge, strange and enjoyably frustrating!
He appears well rested and ready for what life has to throw at him, but also rather hopeful that things aren't thrown his way because projectiles to the soft & tenders are not really what anyone craves...
And there you go! This is the first letter of the new year almost all done & read!
Onwards to the FUTURE!!!
(Especially dinner time, you should see the mushrooms I have for later, oh YUM!!)
Have a beautiful! Magical! Wonderful! Mystical! or just plain nice, first full week of 2025!
From the couple that take it day by day by day by day,
~JoBren!
