That Zoodoo that you do so well!

 Allo!
Good Day and good digestion to you!
How are you, what have you been up to and why that particular shirt today?

Last week was 1 of those dreadful, stressful, wasteful, Arrgh, Grrrr, Hiss Spit and BAM weeks where you really wonder what life's playing at? This meant that. at the end of it all, the weekend was embraced with more tenderness than a student's first paycheck...

We decided to skip Gym on Saturday and go walk in the parks - CLEVER US! The first sunshine on our skin in almost 2 weeks! I could FEEL the Vitamin D sinking into my starved flesh! Oh travelling sky lamp, shinest thou rays upon me!

Sunday we went to gym and almost made it into the building when one of us piped up:
"We could do the Zoo instead?"
And the other answered smartly
"Tally ho, let's go!"
And so - we did!

If you ever need any really interesting feathers, for jewelry crafting or an art project or some insane need to make wings fused with wax that you plan to use to jump of an alarmingly high surface...well, I know a place!

We really enjoyed watched this guy getting to learn who really is the king queen of the jungle enclosure!
Psst, doesn't it look like he has white eyeliner on? Lion emo - so hot right now!
How heavy do you think that mane is?

Him: Heya Sweets, can I get past you to lie in the sun a bit?
Her: What's the password?
Him: er...I love you?
Her: Hahaha, NO!

Him: Fine, I'll just squeeze in here! I don't need to be in the middle of the platform anyway!
*small sigh*

Him: MEANIE!!!!
Her: Yeah yeah, whatevs...

While in the tiger enclosure the mistress of the place sleeps wherever she wants to!
The perks of the hermit life cannot be denied...

Did you know honey badgers could be playful?
We watched this one grabbing his own feet and rolling around and doing about as close to a giggle as a thick set, heavily clawed beastie could do!

He even came up to say hello!
We felt the glass between us was probably a VERY good thing....
Doesn't his fur make it seem like he has a buzz-cut hairstyle?

We found an enclosure you could walk into, just about bursting with ducks and quails and parrots and friendly birds not known for flying at your face and attempting to remove your eyeballs!
You walk through with your, entirely safe, eyes THIS BIG looking out for everything!

It's funny, the noise was intense, bunches of birds calling, screeching, whistling, clucking, trilling... and yet it never felt like noise, not that painful nerve tearing feeling you get around city noise. A soothing symphony of BIRD!

A large Skink saucily lets us THIS CLOSE to take a photo!
He was outside the crocodile enclosure, looking a bit smug about his ability to go in and out without issue, I doubt he has a single bit of envy for his much larger cousins!

Closer to home we have the odd Moorhen (swamp chicken) to admire at the dam.
They are not as pretty as the zoo animals, but they make up for it in character!
Doesn't this look like something that should be on an exotic chocolate box cover?
Or the picture on a playlist of some really soothing music?

Since I am forever forgetting my phone, I have to keep borrowing Mister B's to take pictures with!
I like how our feet give away who is who...

Have you ever seen inside a Treadmill cover?
I thought it would all be sheets of treadmill material and such, but this is rather more techno than than I expected!
It looks like a machine that keeps you alive... and maybe that's not so far off?

Bren was making a character for his Fallout 4 game...
He's meant to be a war veteran, but from the look on the wife's face I think we know where he REALLY got those scars from...

But speaking of mixing & matching, aren't these flowers decisively indecisive?
When you can't decide what colour to be, why not both?!

There have been oodles of these giant moths lately, they're about as big across as the palm of your hand and as harmless as a sausage, amazing!!!
Sure okay you could choke on a sausage, but to be fair if you tried swallowing one of these you sort of set yourself up for the same thing, my comparison sticks!

Yay, there was a bunny on the way to the park!
  1. This guy is tiny
  2. right next to a busy road
  3. opposite to a school
  4. with a human walking towards him
  5. 3 houses away from his actual home
Bunnies are not always cowardly critters!
This could also be a girl bunny, I never stopped to ask.

Autumn has hit and some of our trees are losing their leaves most splendidly!
We have a lot of evergreens, but you do find the odd leaf-shedding marvel here and there and everywhere!

Yes Jo in the mud, of course...
p.s. the shirt survived!

Oooh, when your half-nibbled upon sammige looks exactly like an agitated squirrel!
There are creatures all over the place this week...

In Other News:

Thursday I got a "talking to" on work issues that was both fair and unfair in different areas. It does leave a bad taste in your altogetherness though, doesn't it?

Friday is a public holiday due to easter!
Monday next week is a public holiday due to easter!
*Basks in the idea of two 4 day weeks*
We have ZERO plans for the weekend, perfect!

Trying to get the weekly letter out while working, having meetings and surprise conference calls is very exhausting! But you're reading this so looks like I won regardless! HOORAY!!!

That's all folks, thanks for stopping by and can't wait till next we chat!! ♥

From the couple who are, we think, rather ready for a bit of holidays...
